Dino’s Lounge

For this trip, Andy and Susan are joined by Art ‘Bobby Darin’ Vargas and Troy ‘Louis Armstrong’ Anderson! One of the original stars of Vegas’ world famous Legends in Concert with his acclaimed Bobby Darin tribute, Art Vargas captures the dynamic personality and vocal style of the iconic Darin; voted Best of Las Vegas! Troy Anderson fell in love with the music of Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong while playing with the 2nd AD (Fwd) Jazz Band in Germany where he was stationed as a Paratrooper! By that time, Anderson had already mastered Armstrong’s playing style, and with a lot of practice and patience, he managed to replicate Armstrong’s trademark growl with stirring accuracy.

In the 21st century world of social media, the term Influencer has taken on a whole new meaning. But in the mid 20th century, artists were influencers of other artists! Louis Armstrong’s gravelly tone, relaxed phrasing, and 1926 “Heebie Jeebies” scat-singing popularized vocal improvisation, influencing singers like Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Bing Crosby. Bing’s tone and style had an influence on a young Dean Martin. Dino’s cool style had an influence on an even younger Bobby Darin who would go on to bridge the gap between Sinatra-style standards, rock & roll and even folk music.

Of course, iconic influencer Marilyn Monroe has left an indelible impression on generations of film and music fans, with an uncanny ability to influence audiences to enjoy themselves and feel better! This all-new act will take you on a fresh trip back to the bright, glamorous, sparkling nights of Las Vegas!
