What Happened After the Titanic Went Down? |

Starring Cotter Smith, Fiona Dourif, Jayne Wisener & Karen Allen |

UNSINKABLE tells the riveting journey of Senator William Alden Smith and undercover journalist Alaine Ricard as they investigate the aftermath of the most impactful maritime disaster in history…
the Titanic.

The Strand is one of the Pittsburgh area venues privileged to present this historical drama that was filmed in Pittsburgh, and based on the book and play by local author Eileen Enwright Hodgetts.

Guided by producer Brian Hartman and director Cody Hartman, PMI Films turned Western Pennsylvania into a cinematic canvas. Notable achievements include transforming Ligonier Beach into the chilling waters of the Atlantic and crafting a detailed replica of the Titanic’s deck inside a warehouse. Heinz Hall in downtown Pittsburgh was metamorphosed into the Waldorf Astoria of 1912 New York City.

With meticulous attention, over 75 cast members and thousands of extras were styled authentically in wardrobe, hair, and makeup, immersing audiences in the historical period. UNSINKABLE not only tells a riveting tale but showcases the dedication and artistry behind the scenes that brought this captivating historical drama to life.

There is a character called Ida Strauss in this movie. Ida was the wife of Isador Strauss, the founder of Macy’s Department Stores. Ida was being loaded onto a lifeboat but refused to go when she learned her husband was not permitted. She famously quoted “As we have lived together, so we shall die together. Where you go, I go.” This moment in the film is based on genuine historical testimony from eyewitnesses that survived the tragedy.
