The Strand Welcomes Carl Acuff Jr and His Amazing Band for this Stellar Tribute to Country & Pop Music Icon!
Glen Campbell is remembered as one of the most influential crossover artists in American music, bridging country and pop with exceptional guitar skill, a warm vocal style, and a career spanning five decades. Not only was he an incredible musician, he was an actor, and TV host best known for hits like “Rhinestone Cowboy,” “Wichita Lineman,” and “Gentle on My Mind,” and for hosting The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour (1969–1972). He earned a Golden Globe nomination for his role in the film, True Grit, starring opposite John Wayne. Over the span of his incredible career, Glen Campbell made 70 albums and sold over 50 million copies.
Carl Acuff, Jr is a seasoned musician who has been performing for nearly 40 years. Some of his credits include Branson appearances and performances with the grammy-award-winning country duo The Kendall’s, The Ozarks Front Men, and his own showband. A multi-talented performer, Acuff was inspired to create a Glen Campbell Tribute Show after Campbell’s passing in 2017 from Alzheimer’s Disease. He wanted to take Glen’s music on the road and keep it alive in the hearts and minds of fans, old and new! The Wichita Lineman: A Tribute to Glen Campbell is a concert with a full band, and featuring the greatest hits of the music icon like “Gentle On My Mind,” “By The Time I Get To Phoenix,” “Southern Nights,” “Try A Little Kindness” and of course, the show’s namesake, “Wichita Lineman.” Carl, along with a stellar group of musicians take you on a trip through all of Glen’s biggest hits along with the last song he ever recorded, “I’m Not Gonna Miss You.” It is a perfect tribute show for the intimate setting of The Strand!
