Matsiko World Orphan Choir

July 22 / 7:00 pm

The Strand Welcomes Back This Amazing International Children’s Choir That Brings Joy, Hope & Love Through Music |

Since 2008, the Matsiko World Orphan Choir has brought together our world’s orphaned and vulnerable children to share their story of turning the pain of loss, hunger, and hopelessness into personal empowerment through music, dance, story- telling, and the importance of a complete education to break the cycle of poverty. Matsiko believes every child has dignity and worth. Matsiko is a Ugandan word that means hope. The mission of Matsiko Children International is to provide Hope through Education; to transform the lives of the world’s most vulnerable and at-risk children through a complete education.

The World Orphan Choir uses the unifying power of music to uplift every child, bring joy to all who listen, and to inspire generosity that provides a complete education. Choir members receive a full tuition scholarship through college in their home country, and while on tour receive one-on-one school tutoring, improvement of their English language skills, and a cross-culture experience. The choir is composed of children from all of the countries that Matsiko serves – India, Peru, Uganda, Nepal, Liberia, and The Philippines. These amazing children are ambassadors for the world’s 600 million at-risk or orphaned children. Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Matsiko Children’s International whose mission is to provide a full education to orphaned and at-risk children in some of the world’s most impoverished nations..

Matsiko seeks to break the generational cycle of poverty and to prevent child trafficking which has become an international crisis.
