A group of friends are going through a mid-life crisis. They decide to remake a favorite movie from their youth but encounter unexpected events when they enter the jungle.
When they first take off on the boat, a map is opened and it shows Manaus, Brazil. This was the location where the most of the river scenes in Anaconda (1997) were filmed, on the Rio Negro, near Manaus, Brazil.
When Doug starts writing the screenplay for his reboot/distant sequel of Anaconda (1997), he names it “The Anaconda”, referencing a brief tradition to produce reboots and late sequels by simply adding ‘the’ to the original title: e.g. The Wolverine (2013), The Final Destination (2009), The Predator (2018), The Suicide Squad (2021) and The Batman (2022).
