The Hewlett-Anderson Band: Rhythm of Love
Friday & Saturday ONLY!  February 8 & 9
Pete & Scott Return to The Strand for an Exclusive Concert with an Eye on Valentine's Weekend

Fresh on the heels of their triumphant 'Live from Studio A Holiday Jam' at the New Hazlett Theater, Pete Hewlett and Scott Anderson are ready to turn their focus onto a new, holiday-themed event that you will ONLY find at The Strand!  The Hewlett-Anderson Band's Rhythm Of Love concert arrives the weekend before the holiday that's all about love!

Pete & Scott, along with their top-shelf band-mates, return for this musical showcase featuring a wide and eclectic mix of music that celebrates the one thing we all seek.  Don't expect two hours of ballads, though! Pete and Scott are already hard at work developing a set list that will be fun and full of energy!

SPECIAL GUEST LISA BLEIL will be joining Pete and Scott for this all-new concert event!  Lisa has performed in nearly every facet of the business: from jingles to theater to television to teaching.  Lisa was a member of the house band on the Emmy Award-winning “Live From Studio A” series on WQED, and can also be seen on the PBS “doo-wop” specials performing with Frankie Valli, Frankie Avalon, Darlene Love among others.

Pete, Scott and The Strand have enjoyed a tremendous collaboration over the years.  The band first appeared to celebrate the music of John Lennon and Paul McCartney as part its exclusive Broadway Concert Series
.  The following year, they created the sequel show The Beatles and Beyond.  As part of The Strand's Centennial Series, Pete & Scott performed an original concert,
The 70s v. The 80s: a RETROspective! Then, they created The Piano Men, a tribute to Elton John & Billy Joel so successful, we had to bring it back for an encore performance!.

Pete Hewlett is a world-class singer and musician who happens to have performed with Billy Joel AND Elton John (as well as other household names like Carly Simon, Joe Jackson, Julian Lennon, Amy Grant and Eric Carmen to name a few). He toured extensively with Billy Joel from 1983-88 as well as in 2008's 'Last Play at Shea', and joined Joel and Elton John on stage at PNC Park during their duel concert there.

Scott Anderson is an Emmy Award-winning composer, music director, producer, and one of the Pittsburgh region's most sought-after keyboard players.  Scott received an Emmy award in 2006 for his work composing the score for the award-winning documentary "From Pittsburgh to Poland: Lessons from The Holocaust." In 2007 he won BOTH an Emmy and a Telly award for his work as music director and co-producer of "Live From Studio A: American Standards". Scott was also nominated for Emmys for his work on WQED's "Live From Studio A" television show and again for music contributed to the film "In Service", a joint production of Pittsburgh Filmmakers and Bricolage.
