When a successful New York advertising executive suffers a great
tragedy, he retreats from life. While his concerned friends try
desperately to reconnect with him, he seeks answers from the
universe by writing letters to Love, Time and Death. But it's
not until his notes bring unexpected personal responses that he
begins to understand how these constants interlock in a life
fully lived, and how even the deepest loss can reveal moments of
meaning and beauty.
The loss of a loved one in this movie's theme was reflected in
reality for Will
Smith, in that his father Willard Carroll Smith, Sr. was dying
while Will was researching his role. He has said that working on
the film was extremely therapeutic in helping him deal with the
ultimate loss of his dad.
Smith praised the whole cast by saying, "If we are all judged by
the company we keep ... then I want this cast with me for life!"
In fact, The movie cast includes two Oscar winners, Kate
Winslet and Helen
Mirren, and three Oscar nominees: Will
Norton, and Keira
The real name of the character Love is Aimee Moore. Aimee
is French for "loved," so her name arguably means "loved more."
