Enjoy Three Explosive
Adventures from One of
Hollywood's Favorite Tough Guys
over One
Weekend! |
Go ahead, make our day! In fact, make our next three days by
joining us for three top films from iconic Hollywood tough guy,
Clint Eastwood.
Through a special licensing arrangement with
Cineburgh, The
Strand proudly these teeth grinding blockbusters that
made cemented Eastwood's superstar status!
No need to get 'roped' into anything! Pick your favorite or
attend all
three for one low price! Just
$11! That's right!
See all three of these fist pounding films for less than a
single bus ticket or pass to a modern wild west show!
In The Gauntlet, Eastwood plays
a
hard but mediocre cop assigned to escort a prostitute from Las
Vegas to Phoenix, so she can testify in a mob trial. But a lot
of people are literally betting that they won't make it into
town alive.
The
desert hideaway house that got shot up cost $250,000 to build,
and featured 7,000 drilled holes to house explosive squibs which
would be set off to simulate gunfire. A team of fifteen men
worked eight hour days for a month rigging the dwelling with the
squibs for a shoot-out sequence that would result in the
demolition and collapses of the building. Needless to say, they
got on 'shot' to get the scene right.
In
Bronco Billy,
Eastwood gets to show off his comedic skills, portraying
an
idealistic, modern-day cowboy who struggles to keep his Wild
West show afloat in the face of hard luck and waning interest.
This film is one of Eastwood's favorites in which he directs and
stars.
In a French interview, he
said, "It was an old-fashioned theme, probably too old fashioned
since the film didn't do as well as we hoped. But if, as a film
director, I ever wanted to say something, you'll find it in
Bronco Billy."
Sudden Impact is the third installment of Eastwood's
iconic Dirty Harry series. In this installment,
a rape victim is exacting revenge on her aggressors in a small
town outside San Francisco. "Dirty" Harry Callahan, on
suspension for angering his superiors (again), is assigned to
the case.
This is the movie that coined the catchphrase "Go ahead, make my
day", and became synonymous with the Harry Callahan character
and was enshrined into the vernacular of pop culture. Eastwood
even capitalized on it when he campaigned for Mayor of
Carmel-by-the-Sea, California in 1986. Bumber stickers for his
campaign read, "Go Ahead - Make Me Mayor".
