The Strand Proudly Presents The Return of Chris Jamison Local Hero & Finalist from 'The Voice'

It's a genuine pleasure to welcome back singer and songwriter Chris Jamison to The Strand for his ONLY SCHEDULED Pittsburgh area concert appearance of the Summer!  Last year, Chris wowed fans with a fantastic show in The Strand's intimate setting, and we're excited to announce this return engagement!

Chris will be playing selections from his newest EP, Puzzle Pieces.  The first single was just announced and played for the first time at a Coffee with Chris acoustic show held at Generoasters Cafe in Warrendale.

For his July 13 show, Chris will perform three more selections from the new album, along with many of his fan-favorite songs from his library of music ever since he hit it big on Season 7 of NBC's The Voice!

Chris went from studying musical theater as a kid to spending his college years in Columbus, Ohio playing acoustic shows at local restaurants and bars. In 2014, he jumped at the opportunity to audition for the seventh season of NBC's The Voice. With Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine as his coach, he eventually finished third, as Pharrell Williams claimed, "Chris Jamison to me was nothing short of magical!"

Chris gave a stirring performance at The Strand last August and is returning for a special engagement on July 13th!

His debut single "Velvet" impressively moved over 77,000 digital downloads during its first-week of release as he eventually racked up over 400,000 sales, making him "one of the best-selling artists in the show's history." Chris peaked at #5 on the iTunes Albums charts with the release of his debut EP titled I Am Chris Jamison in 2016.

Chris wrote his recent single, Faith, Hope, Love, a couple of years ago, in the wake of the Pulse nightclub shootings in Orlando and other tragedies. But he hung onto it, unsure of when or how to release it. The recent shootings at Tree of Life synagogue, however, hit too close to home to allow him to sit on the song any more.

"I wasn't sure what to do with it before," Jamison told Billboard Magazine. "I wasn't sure if it was the right time to put it out, the wrong time to put it out. I didn't want it to seem like I was being opportunistic with it. But I got to a point where I realized that why I make music is to share it with other people, to bring people together.  And when the (synagogue shootings) happened, because it was so close to home -- my home -- I felt like it was selfish of me not to release it."

Of course, fans who attended Chris' concert at The Strand last August were already very familiar with the song.  A few weeks after the show, he issued a FREE DOWNLOAD to everyone who attended the show!

Pittsburgh label,The Vault Records, recently signed Jamison to a record deal.  Describing the new material, Jamison said in a statement, "It's pop, but it's got more soul and meaning behind it. To me, it's important not to simply sing a song, but to pour as much emotion into it as I can and really connect. It's what I do."

The Vault Records owner, Bob McCutcheon, said of Jamison, "His talent is undeniable and his music appeals to a wide audience, as demonstrated by his success on The Voice."
