International Christian Recording Artist & Film Composer Makes a Special Stop at The Strand as Part of a Nationwide Tour

CALVIN JONES joins us all the way from Ukraine as part of a nationwide tour supporting his newest EP release, Paramount: The Symphony Sessions, a project 10 years in the making, and recorded with the Taurida International Symphony Orchestra in St. Petersburg, Russia. It represents a new milestone in soulful new classic music. Paramount unites Calvin's American classical music roots with romantic and rustic tapestries. Highly accessible, these melodic new classic works are intensely beautiful piano sagas with lush powerful strings and full symphony that satisfy the deepest, inner most parts of the soul.

Healing, inspiring, encouraging, meditative joy envelopes the listener motivating one not to escape life, but to take it on. Paramount is the 21st century grandchild of the great composers encompassing the winter scenes of Vivaldi, the cinematic anthems of Barber, the lullabies of Brahms, the sonatas and symphonies of Beethoven and Celtic inspired dance.

After winning the 2011 Miss America Pageant, Teresa Scanlan & Calvin Jones performed his hit song as part of 'Dueling Pianos' competition CLICK HERE to Watch it.

Calvin first came to prominence as the composer of the hit song Whitewater Chopped Sticks. In 2010, Calvin mentored Teresa Scanlan, then Miss Nebraska, in his special ninety second edited version of Whitewater Chopped Sticks required by pageants. Nebraska had never won the Miss America pageant before; neither had anyone won at the minimum age of 17 in over 90 years. As a result of Calvin's mentoring and composition, Teresa took the preliminary talent award and then the crown of victory in the Miss America 2011 pageant performing Whitewater Chopped Sticks, thrilling some 14 million viewers watching on ABC TV.

In 2012, Calvin was involved in another project destined to make history. He was asked to create the music for the hit documentary 2016 working with Producer Gerald Molen (Schindler's List, Jurassic Park). 2016 was a major theatrical release grossing some $36 million becoming the 2nd highest grossing documentary in history. In its first week of release it was the number #1 grossing film in America
