For six decades\, the USAF Heritage of America Band has educated\, inspired and entertained over 1.5 million people annually\, by providing music for events that support Airmen and their families\, honor our Nation’s veterans and build relationships of trust between the American people and their Air Force. \n\n\n\n\n\nRhythm in Blue is one of those groups and we are honored to be included in their 2027 tour! Building on the legacy of Major Glenn Miller\, Rhythm in Blue honors those gone before them while forging a new path for American Jazz. From arrangements of standards to original compositions steeped in blues and swing\, the band’s discography showcases a commitment to artistic excellence that has earned them critical acclaim and a dedicated following. This concert is a modern revival of the original WINTER DANCE PARTY tour that took place over 60 years ago\, plus so much more! \n\n\n\n\n\nOn February 2nd\, 1959\, Buddy Holly\, Ritchie Valens\, The Big Bopper\, and Dion and The Belmonts performed together for the very last time. The ‘Winter Dance Party’ tour was thrilling teenagers across the Midwest\, a scheduled 24-city tour\, headlined by Holly and his band\, The Crickets. The tour would end in disaster on February 3rd\, 1959\, when all three would die in their charter plane crash on the way to the tour’s next stop. Remembered ever since as ‘The Day the Music Died’\, these legends had already made their mark in music history. On the eve of its anniversary\, this show relives the concert experience and tells the story of the devastating loss through the eyes of Dion\, who was unable to join the others as there wasn’t enough room on the plane; an incredible story and music event!  \n\n\n\nThis show brings back the best hits of the original Winter Dance Party line up and also includes songs by other stars of the era\, including FATS DOMINO\, ROY ORBISON\, BILL HALEY\, and PAUL ANKA. Hits by BIG MAMA THORNTON\, LESLEY GORE\, THE RONETTES\, AND THE SHIRELLES are featured in special tribute moments to the iconic female artists of the era. DESCRIPTION:The Strand Welcomes Back This Amazing International Children’s Choir That Brings Joy\, Hope & Love Through Music |  \n\n\n\nSince 2008\, the Matsiko World Orphan Choir has brought together our world’s orphaned and vulnerable children to share their story of turning the pain of loss\, hunger\, and hopelessness into personal empowerment through music\, dance\, story- telling\, and the importance of a complete education to break the cycle of poverty. Matsiko believes every child has dignity and worth. Matsiko is a Ugandan word that means hope. The mission of Matsiko Children International is to provide Hope through Education; to transform the lives of the world’s most vulnerable and at-risk children through a complete education. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe World Orphan Choir uses the unifying power of music to uplift every child\, bring joy to all who listen\, and to inspire generosity that provides a complete education. Choir members receive a full tuition scholarship through college in their home country\, and while on tour receive one-on-one school tutoring\, improvement of their English language skills\, and a cross-culture experience. The choir is composed of children from all of the countries that Matsiko serves – India\, Peru\, Uganda\, Nepal\, Liberia\, and The Philippines. These amazing children are ambassadors for the world’s 600 million at-risk or orphaned children. Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Matsiko Children’s International whose mission is to provide a full education to orphaned and at-risk children in some of the world’s most impoverished nations..  \n\n\n\nMatsiko seeks to break the generational cycle of poverty and to prevent child trafficking which has become an international crisis. \n\n\n\nAdditional proceeds from ticket sales will support the ongoing relief efforts in Nepal\, one of the countries that Matsiko serves\, after the devastating flash flood and avalanches in that country that killed over 1\,000 people with thousands still unaccounted for. \n\n\n\n\nMatsiko World Orphan Choir \n\n\n\nThursday ONLY! DESCRIPTION:The Strand Welcomes Carl Acuff Jr and His Amazing Band for this Stellar Tribute to Country & Pop Music Icon! \n\n\n\nGlen Campbell is remembered as one of the most influential crossover artists in American music\, bridging country and pop with exceptional guitar skill\, a warm vocal style\, and a career spanning five decades. Not only was he an incredible musician\, he was an actor\, and TV host best known for hits like “Rhinestone Cowboy\,” “Wichita Lineman\,” and “Gentle on My Mind\,” and for hosting The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour (1969–1972). He earned a Golden Globe nomination for his role in the film\, True Grit\, starring opposite John Wayne. Over the span of his incredible career\, Glen Campbell made 70 albums and sold over 50 million copies. \n\n\n\n\n\nCarl Acuff\, Jr is a seasoned musician who has been performing for nearly 40 years. Some of his credits include Branson appearances and performances with the grammy-award-winning country duo The Kendall’s\, The Ozarks Front Men\, and his own showband. A multi-talented performer\, Acuff was inspired to create a Glen Campbell Tribute Show after Campbell’s passing in 2017 from Alzheimer’s Disease. He wanted to take Glen’s music on the road and keep it alive in the hearts and minds of fans\, old and new!
